for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the
children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me,
10 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and
keep my commandments.
11 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain:
for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
1 Hallelujah! Happy are they who fear the Lord * and have great
delight in his commandments!
2 Their descendants will be mighty in the land; * the generation of the upright will

3 Wealth and riches will be in their house, * and their righteousness will last for

4 Light shines in the darkness for the upright; * the righteous are merciful
and full of compassion.

1 Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that
we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth.
2 And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth
nothing yet as he ought to know.
3 But if any man love God, the same is known of him.
4 As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are
offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that
there is none other God but one.
5 For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven
or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)
6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all
things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
7 Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge: for some
with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing offered unto an idol; and
their conscience being weak is defiled.
8 But meat commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat,
are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse.
9 But take heed lest by any means this liberty of your's
become a stumbling block to them that are weak.
13 Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no
flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend.
22 And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the
synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet,
23 And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth
at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed;

42 And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was
of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment.
43 And he charged them straitly that no man should know it;
and commanded that something should be given her to eat.

1 And he said unto me, Son of man, stand upon thy feet, and I will speak unto thee. 2 And the spirit entered into me when he spake unto me, and set me upon my feet, that I heard him that spake unto me. 3 And he said unto me, Son of man, I send thee to the children of Israel, to a rebellious nation that hath rebelled against me: they and their fathers have transgressed against me, even unto this very day. 4 For they are impudent children and stiffhearted. I do send thee unto them; and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD. 5 And they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they are a rebellious house,) yet shall know that there hath been a prophet among them. 6 And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house. 7 And thou shalt speak my words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear: for they are most rebellious.

And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes. 39 And he commanded them to make all sit down by companies upon the green grass. 40 And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds, and by fifties. 41 And when he had taken the five loaves and the two fishes, he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and brake the loaves, and gave them to his disciples to set before them; and the two fishes divided he among them all. 42 And they did all eat, and were filled. 43 And they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments, and of the fishes. 44 And they that did eat of the loaves were about five thousand men.
